2026 Wrap Up
What a weekend! The 2026 Robertson Show had everything — including the reliably unreliable Robertson weather!

What a weekend! The 2026 Robertson Show had everything — including the reliably unreliable Robertson weather!
Our Pavilion was absolutely bursting with creativity this year, with an incredible 3,500 entries on display. From baking and craft to photography and produce, the talent across our community was simply amazing. A special highlight was our Best Pig in Show display, where more than 750 votes were cast to crown the people’s choice winner — a charming brown needle-felted Saddleback pig that stole everyone’s hearts. Congratulations to Lynne Green and Erin Bracht were our Most Successful Pavillion Exhibitors.
Congratulations to our very own Peter Glass, pumpkin grower extraordinaire, who took out the Giant Pumpkin Competition with an impressive 58kg pumpkin!
Our Dairy and Beef Displays were a fantastic success, showcasing the quality of our local industries with some beautiful cattle in the ring.
Despite the heavy mist rolling in, Muster in the Mist was a hugely entertaining night. In fact, we may have slightly over-ordered on the mist — at times you could barely see the performers! Thankfully the sound carried perfectly across the grounds. The fog certainly helped the Cooee Competition, which echoed across the hills of East Kangaloon. Liam Maihi had the crowd singing along to country classics, while Dee’s line dancing crew kept everyone moving and warm.
Saturday morning greeted us with beautiful sunshine and big crowds pouring through the gates. The grounds were buzzing with activity. The Pet Show was hotly contested, with Ruby and her chook “China” taking the win. Farmer Dave’s dog jumping show was a crowd favourite, while our magnificent draught horses and bullock team impressed with their expert handlers. Harley the Brahman posed for photos and enjoyed a pat whilst wandering the grounds.
We were also proud to welcome our local Light Horse brigade, who shared fascinating stories of our region’s historical connections. Our three horse rings kept judges busy all day thanks to increased entries. Our Dog Show had 305 entries down at the Primary School and luckily for the dogs were finished before the storm. Meanwhile, the Family Fun Zone was packed with kids enjoying hands-on experiences with local agriculture.
Unfortunately the Robertson weather had one last surprise for us. A sudden storm brought 70mm of rain in just two hours, forcing us to cancel the afternoon’s activities — including the much-loved Potato Races — for everyone’s safety.
A huge thank you to our wonderful crowd for staying safe and patient during the storm. Our first aid team did an excellent job keeping everyone well cared for, and we’re pleased to report that both the horse rider who had a fall and our ice-cream vendor are doing well.
We were still able to run Helilotto, with the winning ball belonging to our very own Ryan Hill.
Despite the fog and the electrical storm, it was a fantastic show full of community spirit, and we are so grateful to everyone who came along and supported us.
A huge thank you to:
-
Our generous sponsors
-
Our hardworking committee and volunteers
-
Robertson Public School for the always-tasty BBQ
-
Robertson Hockey Club for staffing the gates
-
Robertson RFS, who not only parked cars but also helped push vehicles through the mud to get everyone safely home
Your support is what makes the Robertson Show so special.
We can’t wait to do it all again!
Mark your calendars for the 2027 Robertson Show – 5-6 March.
That gives you plenty of time to start a project that might just win you a Robertson Show ribbon next year!
