| The Cheese Making Section was introduced into the Pavilion for the first time in more years than anyone can remember. Robertson had a thriving Dairy Industry and many Butter and Cheese Factories existed in the district's early days. Dairy produce and its products were big items in the early years of the show's history, but with the passing of time and different ways of milk preservation, transport and refrigeration, this was sadly phased out. At the instigation of Mark and Lesley Williams from Small Cow Farm, Robertson, we bit the bullet and decided if it wasn't tried we would never know if it was a good idea or not. |
| Mark expected to receive between 12-18 entries but we were overwhelmed with the response, over 40 exhibits! Many were graduates from the cheese making workshops, but non attendees also featured in the results, coming from a wide area including Austimer, Cowan, Peakhurst, Cambewarra and of course Robertson. |
| A few tricky moments when the refridgerated display cabinet blew up at the last minute, but thanks to some ingenuity and hard work on Mark's part, the cheeses kept their cool. Thanks must go to Rick Fitzgerald for the loan of the display cabinet, and his offers to have it repaired. If anyone has any knowledge of a display cabinet or glass fronted fridge going cheaply (or even free!) we would be very interested to hear about it. |
| This Section will be included in next year's show and Mark is talking of expanding the classes. |

| Mark & Lesley hold cheese making workshops throughout the year and have also won prestigous cheese making competitions, notably gaining two silver medals for their fetta cheeses. |
